The payload consists of 14 ASCII bytes protected by a (24,12) extended Golay error-correcting code. Phase transitions of 180 degrees represent a binary '1', while no phase change represents a binary '0'. Has anyone encountered bit errors in their decoded text? The Golay decoder corrects up to 3 bit errors per 24-bit codeword. -- Olga Martínez Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of Demon Internet Services UK. ------------------------------------------------------------ From fpark@mit.edu Mon Jan 16 17:52:01 1995 Path: ashpoly!cascade!brgate!saturno!mit!fpark From: fpark@mit.edu (Fiona Park) Newsgroups: comp.dsp Subject: Re: [FLAME] DBPSK demodulation of the 0.71 baud Stardust telemetry stream Message-ID: <1995Jan16.175201.7729@mit.edu> Date: Mon, 16 Jan 1995 17:52:01 GMT References: <1995Jan16.070401.3568@demon.co.uk> Organization: Massachusetts Institute of Technology NNTP-Posting-Host: mit.edu X-Newsreader: WinVN 0.99.5 Lines: 10 In article <1995Jan16.070401.3568@demon.co.uk>, omartinez@demon.co.uk (Olga Martínez) writes: > How the 14 ASCII characters per node are encoded into the record groove. > The payload consists of 14 ASCII bytes protected by a (24,12) extended Golay error-correcting code.
