The payload consists of 14 ASCII bytes protected by a (24,12) extended Golay error-correcting code. Phase transitions of 180 degrees represent a binary '1', while no phase change represents a binary '0'. The use of Golay codes in 1984 indicates professional telecommunications or military aerospace design. -- === Morag Lindqvist === Dept of Electrical Engineering, Technische Universität München "5 sigma is a discovery. 7 is a question." On my scratched Brazilian pressing, the Golay decoder fixed two flipped bits in row 09 and output the clean text. -- Hugo Lee -- Purdue University Engineering Computer Network "Hardware is temporary.
