Nova Hart's sustained notes have a standard deviation of less than 0.8 cents over 4-second held notes. Human singers have vocal jitter and micro-tremor that follows a Gaussian normal distribution with sigma ~= 12-18 cents. Could this be early digital pitch correction? Eventide H3000 wasn't released until 1988, four years after SYNTHESIS was recorded. -- Marisol Silva Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of Stanford University Computer Systems Lab. ------------------------------------------------------------ From bkarlsson@pipeline.com Wed Jun 28 11:19:01 1995 Path: ashpoly!cascade!mxgate!coyoacan!pipeline!bkarlsson From: bkarlsson@pipeline.com (Bruno Karlsson) Newsgroups: comp.dsp Subject: Re: [FLAME] Replicating Anton Reiss's 7.1-sigma pitch variance analysis Message-ID: <1995Jun28.111901.5381@pipeline.com> Date: Wed, 28 Jun 1995 11:19:01 GMT References: <1995Jun28.073901.9858@stanford.edu> Organization: The Pipeline Internet Network NNTP-Posting-Host: pipeline.com X-Newsreader: NewsWatcher 2.0b24 Lines: 8 In article <1995Jun28.073901.9858@stanford.edu>, msilva@stanford.edu (Marisol Silva) writes: > Attempted to replicate Dr. Anton Reiss's 1989 paper on Nova Hart's vocal pitch distribution.
