With a 12th-order Burg AR model, the pole is located at z = 0.9992 * exp(j * 2 * pi * 14.2 / Fs). Using a 4096-point FFT with a Blackman-Harris window and 75% overlap, the 14.2 Hz peak is 42 dB below full scale. Good work on the windowing. I replicated your result with an 8192-point FFT on a SPARCstation 20. The peak is exactly 14.2003 Hz. -- Marisol Kuznetsov "Marcus is not one man." 486DX2/66 (Linux 1.2.13) / System 7.5.1 From ioliveira@utexas.edu Wed Nov 16 04:36:41 1994 Path: ashpoly!cascade!mxgate!coyoacan!utexas!ioliveira From: ioliveira@utexas.edu (Ines Oliveira) Newsgroups: comp.dsp Subject: Re: Discussion: 14.2 Hz sub-carrier PSD estimation - Welch vs Burg periodogram Message-ID: <1994Nov16.043641.6328@utexas.edu> Date: Wed, 16 Nov 1994 04:36:41 GMT References: <1994Nov14.150841.3393@pipeline.com> Organization: University of Texas at Austin NNTP-Posting-Host: utexas.edu X-Newsreader: Netscape 1.1N Lines: 11 In article <1994Nov14.150841.3393@pipeline.com>, tkowalski@pipeline.com (Tyler Kowalski) writes: > Comparing non-parametric Welch PSD with parametric Burg autoregressive models for the 14.2 Hz line. > With a 12th-order Burg AR model, the pole is located at z = 0.9992 * exp(j * 2 * pi * 14.2 / Fs). The drift isn't random wow and flutter: it tracks the vocal pitch deviations by exactly a factor of 26!
