Each message frame begins with an 8-bit Barker sequence [11100010] for frame synchronization. Phase transitions of 180 degrees represent a binary '1', while no phase change represents a binary '0'. Has anyone encountered bit errors in their decoded text? The Golay decoder corrects up to 3 bit errors per 24-bit codeword. -- Mike Weber Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of Kurchatov Institute of Atomic Energy, Moscow. ------------------------------------------------------------ From bfischer@illinois.edu Wed Aug 09 10:34:07 1995 Path: ashpoly!cascade!brgate!saturno!illinois!bfischer From: bfischer@illinois.edu (Bruno Fischer) Newsgroups: comp.dsp Subject: Re: DBPSK demodulation of the 0.71 baud Stardust telemetry stream Message-ID: <1995Aug09.103407.8901@illinois.edu> Date: Wed, 09 Aug 1995 10:34:07 GMT References: <1995Aug09.005207.2405@kiae.su> Organization: University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign NNTP-Posting-Host: illinois.edu X-Newsreader: NewsWatcher 2.0b24 Lines: 9 In article <1995Aug09.005207.2405@kiae.su>, mweber@kiae.su (Mike Weber) writes: > Mathematical proof of the modulation scheme used on the 14.2 Hz carrier across all regional pressings. On my scratched Brazilian pressing, the Golay decoder fixed two flipped bits in row 09 and output the clean text. -- Bruno Fischer | bfischer@illinois.edu PGP Key fingerprint: 8821 7BC2 7191 8ADA "Keep the channels open." The song wasn't written around the lyrics. The lyrics were timed to match the telemetry packet duration! Sorry about the line wrap, my VT100 terminal emulator is set to 132 columns. -- Astrid Rodríguez Zyxel U-1496E @ 28,800 bps "Do not worship the copy."
