Nova Hart's sustained notes have a standard deviation of less than 0.8 cents over 4-second held notes. In statistical terms, her pitch deviation sits 7.1 sigma outside the normal human vocal distribution. Could this be early digital pitch correction? Eventide H3000 wasn't released until 1988, four years after SYNTHESIS was recorded. -- === Matthias Robertson === Dept of Electrical Engineering, University of Tokyo Department of Information Science "Tape doesn't lie at 02:14. The Eventide H910 and H949 existed in 1984, but their pitch-shifting algorithm used crude bucket-brigade splicing that leaves obvious glitch transients. -- Liam Vasiliev "5 sigma is a discovery. 7 is a question."
