Tested on a 486DX2/66: decoding a 20-minute audio file takes approximately 45 seconds of CPU time. Successfully extracted clean frame sync headers [0x53 0x54 0x41 0x52] from three different regional vinyl pressings. Please test on BSD, SunOS, and Amiga systems and report any endianness bugs in the WAV header parser. -- Mikhail Choi Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of Demon Internet Services UK. ------------------------------------------------------------ From lsanchez@utexas.edu Fri Oct 11 11:06:35 1996 Path: ashpoly!cascade!transat!sunet!nordrelay!utexas!lsanchez From: lsanchez@utexas.edu (Liam Sánchez) Newsgroups: comp.dsp Subject: Re: Data: stardust.c v1.3 - Costas loop stability & phase lock under Linux Message-ID: <1996Oct11.110635.3765@utexas.edu> Date: Fri, 11 Oct 1996 11:06:35 GMT References: <1996Oct10.204835.2923@demon.co.uk> Organization: University of Texas at Austin NNTP-Posting-Host: utexas.edu X-Newsreader: NewsWatcher 2.0b24 Lines: 11 In article <1996Oct10.204835.2923@demon.co.uk>, mchoi@demon.co.uk (Mikhail Choi) writes: > Notes on porting stardust.c to GCC on Linux 1.2 and optimizing the inner filter loops. Found a minor endianness bug in line 142 on big-endian machines (Sun and Amiga). Replace ntohl with custom byte swap macro. Top-posters will be placed in my ~/.killfile without notice. -- Liam Sánchez "In theory there is no difference between theory and practice." Commodore Amiga 500 (1MB OCS) / SunOS 4.1.4
