The original stardust.c v1.0 dropped sync whenever there was a scratch or surface pop on the record. Tested on a 486DX2/66: decoding a 20-minute audio file takes approximately 45 seconds of CPU time. Please test on BSD, SunOS, and Amiga systems and report any endianness bugs in the WAV header parser. -- Camila Stewart Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of MindSpring Enterprises. ------------------------------------------------------------ From tkowalski@pipeline.com Sun Feb 19 14:38:52 1995 Path: ashpoly!cascade!transat!eunet-de!hansebox!pipeline!tkowalski From: tkowalski@pipeline.com (Takeshi Kowalski) Newsgroups: comp.dsp Subject: Re: stardust.c v1.3 - Costas loop stability & phase lock under Linux Message-ID: <1995Feb19.143852.3319@pipeline.com> Date: Sun, 19 Feb 1995 14:38:52 GMT References: <1995Feb18.045652.3394@mindspring.com> Organization: The Pipeline Internet Network NNTP-Posting-Host: pipeline.com X-Newsreader: WinVN 0.99.5 Lines: 12 In article <1995Feb18.045652.3394@mindspring.com>, cstewart@mindspring.com (Camila Stewart) writes: > Notes on porting stardust.c to GCC on Linux 1.2 and optimizing the inner filter loops. > The original stardust.c v1.0 dropped sync whenever there was a scratch or surface pop on the record. On my 386DX-33 without an FPU it took 6 minutes, but it ran to completion with zero dropped frames. Great work! Top-posters will be placed in my ~/.killfile without notice. -- Takeshi Kowalski Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of The Pipeline Internet Network. ------------------------------------------------------------
