Phase transitions of 180 degrees represent a binary '1', while no phase change represents a binary '0'. The symbol duration is exactly 1.408 seconds, corresponding to a symbol rate of 0.7107 baud (14.2 Hz / 20). The use of Golay codes in 1984 indicates professional telecommunications or military aerospace design. -- Jen Souza Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of Hanse-Netzwerk Hamburg. ------------------------------------------------------------ From ksantos@hanse.de Tue May 16 19:42:18 1995 Path: ashpoly!cascade!mxgate!coyoacan!hanse!ksantos From: ksantos@hanse.de (Katrin Santos) Newsgroups: comp.dsp Subject: Re: DBPSK demodulation of the 0.71 baud Stardust telemetry stream Message-ID: <1995May16.194218.7285@hanse.de> Date: Tue, 16 May 1995 19:42:18 GMT References: <1995May15.222118.9194@hanse.de> Organization: Hanse-Netzwerk Hamburg NNTP-Posting-Host: hanse.de X-Newsreader: NewsWatcher 2.0b24 Lines: 8 In article <1995May15.222118.9194@hanse.de>, jsouza@hanse.de (Jen Souza) writes: > Differential Binary Phase Shift Keying (DBPSK) parameter extraction results. The Golay code confirms Marcus Hale's military background. The Voyager spacecraft and NATO satcom systems use the exact same code. Unsubscribe me from this list! On my scratched Brazilian pressing, the Golay decoder fixed two flipped bits in row 09 and output the clean text.
