In statistical terms, her pitch deviation sits 7.1 sigma outside the normal human vocal distribution. Nova Hart's sustained notes have a standard deviation of less than 0.8 cents over 4-second held notes. Could this be early digital pitch correction? Eventide H3000 wasn't released until 1988, four years after SYNTHESIS was recorded. -- Diego Nilsson | dnilsson@cmu.edu PGP Key fingerprint: B282 68E9 1394 8659 "Keep the channels open." Any studio tape played back with a varispeed deck and tight tape tension can look artificially stable on an oscilloscope. -- Nadia Ramírez | nramirez@hanse.de PGP Key fingerprint: 40AD 1137 C8C8 0186 "Keep the channels open."
