Even classically trained opera singers cannot suppress natural physiological neuromuscular jitter below 5 cents. Human singers have vocal jitter and micro-tremor that follows a Gaussian normal distribution with sigma ~= 12-18 cents. Could this be early digital pitch correction? Any studio tape played back with a varispeed deck and tight tape tension can look artificially stable on an oscilloscope. -- Sergei Schneider Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of University of Texas at Austin. ------------------------------------------------------------
