Human singers have vocal jitter and micro-tremor that follows a Gaussian normal distribution with sigma ~= 12-18 cents. In statistical terms, her pitch deviation sits 7.1 sigma outside the normal human vocal distribution. Could this be early digital pitch correction? Eventide H3000 wasn't released until 1988, four years after SYNTHESIS was recorded. -- Liam Campbell | lcampbell@hanse.de PGP Key fingerprint: 3B01 8757 0C7C 6863 "Keep the channels open." Dr. Reiss was a particle physicist, not an acoustic phonetics researcher. 7 sigma is particle physics terminology, not audio engineering. -- Seo-yeon Johansson Tape trading list upon request.
