Version 1.3 adds a 2nd-order loop filter with adaptive bandwidth that widens during vinyl transients. Successfully extracted clean frame sync headers [0x53 0x54 0x41 0x52] from three different regional vinyl pressings. Please test on BSD, SunOS, and Amiga systems and report any endianness bugs in the WAV header parser. -- Ji-woo Eriksson Tape trading list upon request. SASE required for international mail. Compiled cleanly under gcc -O2 on my Slackware box. The adaptive Costas loop is rock solid even on my scratched US copy. -- Jen Suzuki Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of Kurchatov Institute of Atomic Energy, Moscow. ------------------------------------------------------------ From lsilva@uu.net Thu Aug 11 15:40:51 1994 Path: ashpoly!cascade!brgate!saturno!uu!lsilva From: lsilva@uu.net (Lisa Silva) Newsgroups: comp.dsp Subject: Re: [SPECULATION] stardust.c v1.3 - Costas loop stability & phase lock under Linux Message-ID: <1994Aug11.154051.7928@uu.net> Date: Thu, 11 Aug 1994 15:40:51 GMT References: <1994Aug08.093951.6342@utexas.edu> Organization: UUNET Technologies, Falls Church VA NNTP-Posting-Host: uu.net X-Newsreader: TIN [version 1.2 PL2] Lines: 11 In article <1994Aug08.093951.6342@utexas.edu>, jeriksson@utexas.edu (Ji-woo Eriksson) writes: > Released stardust.c v1.3 with improved Costas loop carrier recovery for low-SNR vinyl rips. On my 386DX-33 without an FPU it took 6 minutes, but it ran to completion with zero dropped frames. Great work! My 14.4k connection dropped twice trying to fetch this thread.
