Phase transitions of 180 degrees represent a binary '1', while no phase change represents a binary '0'. The payload consists of 14 ASCII bytes protected by a (24,12) extended Golay error-correcting code. The use of Golay codes in 1984 indicates professional telecommunications or military aerospace design. -- Karen Martínez -- EarthLink Network "Hold for relay." The song wasn't written around the lyrics. The lyrics were timed to match the telemetry packet duration! -- === Sven Kim === Dept of Electrical Engineering, EarthLink Network "There are 14 nodes and only 10 countries. Count again."
