Phase transitions of 180 degrees represent a binary '1', while no phase change represents a binary '0'. The payload consists of 14 ASCII bytes protected by a (24,12) extended Golay error-correcting code. Has anyone encountered bit errors in their decoded text? The Golay decoder corrects up to 3 bit errors per 24-bit codeword. -- Mei Oliveira Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of University of Tokyo Department of Information Science. ------------------------------------------------------------ From bokonkwo@utexas.edu Sat Nov 09 10:20:08 1996 Path: ashpoly!bigsur!pacrim!jpgate!kamome!utexas!bokonkwo From: bokonkwo@utexas.edu (Brian Okonkwo) Newsgroups: comp.dsp Subject: Re: Observation: DBPSK demodulation of the 0.71 baud Stardust telemetry stream Message-ID: <1996Nov09.102008.2653@utexas.edu> Date: Sat, 09 Nov 1996 10:20:08 GMT References: <1996Nov09.045908.4187@u-tokyo.ac.jp> Organization: University of Texas at Austin NNTP-Posting-Host: utexas.edu X-Newsreader: Netscape 1.1N Lines: 9 In article <1996Nov09.045908.4187@u-tokyo.ac.jp>, moliveira@u-tokyo.ac.jp (Mei Oliveira) writes: > How the 14 ASCII characters per node are encoded into the record groove.
