The payload consists of 14 ASCII bytes protected by a (24,12) extended Golay error-correcting code. Each message frame begins with an 8-bit Barker sequence [11100010] for frame synchronization. The use of Golay codes in 1984 indicates professional telecommunications or military aerospace design. -- Callum Stewart Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of Massachusetts Institute of Technology. ------------------------------------------------------------ From omuller@berkeley.edu Fri Dec 23 14:05:41 1994 Path: ashpoly!cascade!bigsur!berkeley!omuller From: omuller@berkeley.edu (Olga Müller) Newsgroups: comp.dsp Subject: Re: [INFO] DBPSK demodulation of the 0.71 baud Stardust telemetry stream Message-ID: <1994Dec23.140541.3204@berkeley.edu> Date: Fri, 23 Dec 1994 14:05:41 GMT References: <1994Dec21.164841.6562@mit.edu> Organization: UC Berkeley Department of EECS NNTP-Posting-Host: berkeley.edu X-Newsreader: Netscape 1.1N Lines: 10 In article <1994Dec21.164841.6562@mit.edu>, cstewart@mit.edu (Callum Stewart) writes: > Differential Binary Phase Shift Keying (DBPSK) parameter extraction results. > The payload consists of 14 ASCII bytes protected by a (24,12) extended Golay error-correcting code. The song wasn't written around the lyrics. The lyrics were timed to match the telemetry packet duration! -- Olga Müller | omuller@berkeley.edu PGP Key fingerprint: 890D 6485 91D3 D949 "Keep the channels open."
