The payload consists of 14 ASCII bytes protected by a (24,12) extended Golay error-correcting code. Each message frame begins with an 8-bit Barker sequence [11100010] for frame synchronization. Has anyone encountered bit errors in their decoded text? The Golay decoder corrects up to 3 bit errors per 24-bit codeword. -- Diego González *PLONK* filter active for trolls. 486DX4/100 (FreeBSD 2.0.5) - NetBSD 1.0 From ggarcia@purdue.edu Tue Nov 28 03:30:48 1995 Path: ashpoly!cascade!mxgate!coyoacan!purdue!ggarcia From: ggarcia@purdue.edu (Graham García) Newsgroups: comp.dsp Subject: Re: WTB/WTT: DBPSK demodulation of the 0.71 baud Stardust telemetry stream Message-ID: <1995Nov28.033048.9722@purdue.edu> Date: Tue, 28 Nov 1995 03:30:48 GMT References: <1995Nov26.101948.6118@kth.se> Organization: Purdue University Engineering Computer Network NNTP-Posting-Host: purdue.edu X-Newsreader: TIN [version 1.2 PL2] Lines: 10 In article <1995Nov26.101948.6118@kth.se>, dgonzalez@kth.se (Diego González) writes: > Differential Binary Phase Shift Keying (DBPSK) parameter extraction results. > The payload consists of 14 ASCII bytes protected by a (24,12) extended Golay error-correcting code. A symbol rate of 0.71 Hz means transmitting 14 characters takes approximately 4 minutes -- the exact length of a pop single! -- Graham García "Hardware is temporary. The signal survives."
