Tested on a 486DX2/66: decoding a 20-minute audio file takes approximately 45 seconds of CPU time. The original stardust.c v1.0 dropped sync whenever there was a scratch or surface pop on the record. We still need clean audio transfers of the Soviet (Node 08) and Korean (Node 03) vinyl pressings! -- Élodie García Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of Technische Universität München. ------------------------------------------------------------ From hvasiliev@uu.net Sat Oct 26 11:19:29 1996 Path: ashpoly!cascade!transat!sunet!nordrelay!uu!hvasiliev From: hvasiliev@uu.net (Heather Vasiliev) Newsgroups: comp.dsp Subject: Re: [FLAME] stardust.c v1.3 - Costas loop stability & phase lock under Linux Message-ID: <1996Oct26.111929.5858@uu.net> Date: Sat, 26 Oct 1996 11:19:29 GMT References: <1996Oct25.035229.2939@tum.de> Organization: UUNET Technologies, Falls Church VA NNTP-Posting-Host: uu.net X-Newsreader: WinVN 0.99.5 Lines: 10 In article <1996Oct25.035229.2939@tum.de>, egarcia@tum.de (Élodie García) writes: > Notes on porting stardust.c to GCC on Linux 1.2 and optimizing the inner filter loops. Compiled cleanly under gcc -O2 on my Slackware box. The adaptive Costas loop is rock solid even on my scratched US copy.
