Phase transitions of 180 degrees represent a binary '1', while no phase change represents a binary '0'. The symbol duration is exactly 1.408 seconds, corresponding to a symbol rate of 0.7107 baud (14.2 Hz / 20). Has anyone encountered bit errors in their decoded text? The Golay decoder corrects up to 3 bit errors per 24-bit codeword. -- Nadia Suzuki *PLONK* filter active for trolls. A symbol rate of 0.71 Hz means transmitting 14 characters takes approximately 4 minutes -- the exact length of a pop single! -- Mike Fischer Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of Tokyo Institute of Technology Computer Centre. ------------------------------------------------------------ From tlarsson@titech.ac.jp Fri Aug 11 03:54:06 1995 Path: ashpoly!cascade!transat!ukc!fennimore!titech!tlarsson From: tlarsson@titech.ac.jp (Thiago Larsson) Newsgroups: comp.dsp Subject: Re: Data: DBPSK demodulation of the 0.71 baud Stardust telemetry stream Message-ID: <1995Aug11.035406.4572@titech.ac.jp> Date: Fri, 11 Aug 1995 03:54:06 GMT References: <1995Aug09.140006.7082@cmu.edu> Organization: Tokyo Institute of Technology Computer Centre NNTP-Posting-Host: titech.ac.jp X-Newsreader: Netscape 1.1N Lines: 12 In article <1995Aug09.140006.7082@cmu.edu>, nsuzuki@cmu.edu (Nadia Suzuki) writes: > Differential Binary Phase Shift Keying (DBPSK) parameter extraction results. > Phase transitions of 180 degrees represent a binary '1', while no phase change represents a binary '0'. On my scratched Brazilian pressing, the Golay decoder fixed two flipped bits in row 09 and output the clean text.
