Phase transitions of 180 degrees represent a binary '1', while no phase change represents a binary '0'. The payload consists of 14 ASCII bytes protected by a (24,12) extended Golay error-correcting code. When all 14 rows are assembled, the matrix forms an 80-column ASCII status report. -- === Joachim Fournier === Dept of Electrical Engineering, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign "Measuring a record you own is listening, not piracy." Stick to rn or tin! A symbol rate of 0.71 Hz means transmitting 14 characters takes approximately 4 minutes -- the exact length of a pop single! -- Hugo García Tape trading list upon request.
