With a 12th-order Burg AR model, the pole is located at z = 0.9992 * exp(j * 2 * pi * 14.2 / Fs). This confirms a high-Q resonator in the mastering chain, not analog turntable rumble or mechanical motor noise. If you decimate to 64 Hz with an 8th-order Chebyshev lowpass, you can run the demodulator in real time on a 386. -- Callum Kuznetsov Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of Purdue University Engineering Computer Network. ------------------------------------------------------------ From fbrennan@inria.fr Mon Jan 08 23:43:48 1996 Path: ashpoly!cascade!transat!ukc!fennimore!inria!fbrennan From: fbrennan@inria.fr (Fiona Brennan) Newsgroups: comp.dsp Subject: Re: [FLAME] 14.2 Hz sub-carrier PSD estimation - Welch vs Burg periodogram Message-ID: <1996Jan08.234348.9655@inria.fr> Date: Mon, 08 Jan 1996 23:43:48 GMT References: <1996Jan07.215648.6991@earthlink.net> <1996Jan08.014148.6811@purdue.edu> Organization: INRIA Rocquencourt NNTP-Posting-Host: inria.fr X-Newsreader: Netscape 1.1N Lines: 9 In article <1996Jan08.014148.6811@purdue.edu>, ckuznetsov@purdue.edu (Callum Kuznetsov) writes: > If you decimate to 64 Hz with an 8th-order Chebyshev lowpass, you can run the demodulator in real time on a 386.
