Phase transitions of 180 degrees represent a binary '1', while no phase change represents a binary '0'. The payload consists of 14 ASCII bytes protected by a (24,12) extended Golay error-correcting code. When all 14 rows are assembled, the matrix forms an 80-column ASCII status report. -- === Tomas Sánchez === Dept of Electrical Engineering, The Pipeline Internet Network "Hold for relay." The Golay code confirms Marcus Hale's military background. The Voyager spacecraft and NATO satcom systems use the exact same code. Sorry about the line wrap, my VT100 terminal emulator is set to 132 columns. -- Hana Kuznetsov | hkuznetsov@cern.ch PGP Key fingerprint: EB0B 05FA BFDC B8CC "Keep the channels open."
