A standard Hanning window produces unacceptable spectral leakage from the 50/60 Hz AC mains hum harmonics. Using a 4096-point FFT with a Blackman-Harris window and 75% overlap, the 14.2 Hz peak is 42 dB below full scale. I've uploaded the C source for my decimation and bandpass filter to ftp.ashford-poly.edu. -- Sergei Kowalski Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of European Laboratory for Particle Physics, Geneva. ------------------------------------------------------------ From avasiliev@utexas.edu Mon Jan 02 12:33:58 1995 Path: ashpoly!cascade!brgate!saturno!utexas!avasiliev From: avasiliev@utexas.edu (Anton Vasiliev) Newsgroups: comp.dsp Subject: Re: [FLAME] 14.2 Hz sub-carrier PSD estimation - Welch vs Burg periodogram Message-ID: <1995Jan02.123358.3356@utexas.edu> Date: Mon, 02 Jan 1995 12:33:58 GMT References: <1995Jan01.115558.5307@cern.ch> Organization: University of Texas at Austin NNTP-Posting-Host: utexas.edu X-Newsreader: Netscape 1.1N Lines: 9 In article <1995Jan01.115558.5307@cern.ch>, skowalski@cern.ch (Sergei Kowalski) writes: > Technical analysis of the sub-audible carrier: data and MATLAB code below.
