In statistical terms, her pitch deviation sits 7.1 sigma outside the normal human vocal distribution. Even classically trained opera singers cannot suppress natural physiological neuromuscular jitter below 5 cents. Could this be early digital pitch correction? Nova's vocal has zero splicing transients. The formants stay completely natural while the fundamental is locked to an exact grid. -- Joachim Takahashi Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of RWTH Aachen Informatik. ------------------------------------------------------------ From psilva@utexas.edu Mon Jan 01 14:59:31 1996 Path: ashpoly!bigsur!pacrim!krgate!eunha!utexas!psilva From: psilva@utexas.edu (Pavel Silva) Newsgroups: comp.dsp Subject: Re: Replicating Anton Reiss's 7.1-sigma pitch variance analysis Message-ID: <1996Jan01.145931.1354@utexas.edu> Date: Mon, 01 Jan 1996 14:59:31 GMT References: <1995Dec28.121231.1593@u-tokyo.ac.jp> <1995Dec30.150531.6757@inria.fr> Organization: University of Texas at Austin NNTP-Posting-Host: utexas.edu X-Newsreader: TIN [version 1.2 PL2] Lines: 11 In article <1995Dec30.150531.6757@inria.fr>, elarsson@inria.fr (Emi Larsson) writes: > Her voice wasn't corrected after the fact.
