Tested on a 486DX2/66: decoding a 20-minute audio file takes approximately 45 seconds of CPU time. The original stardust.c v1.0 dropped sync whenever there was a scratch or surface pop on the record. Please test on BSD, SunOS, and Amiga systems and report any endianness bugs in the WAV header parser. -- Joachim López Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of RWTH Aachen Informatik. ------------------------------------------------------------ From dwatanabe@uni-hamburg.de Tue Apr 18 13:13:35 1995 Path: ashpoly!cascade!mxgate!coyoacan!uni-hamburg!dwatanabe From: dwatanabe@uni-hamburg.de (Dong-hyun Watanabe) Newsgroups: comp.dsp Subject: Re: Discussion: stardust.c v1.3 - Costas loop stability & phase lock under Linux Message-ID: <1995Apr18.131335.9538@uni-hamburg.de> Date: Tue, 18 Apr 1995 13:13:35 GMT References: <1995Apr17.030235.4118@rwth-aachen.de> Organization: Universität Hamburg Fachbereich Informatik NNTP-Posting-Host: uni-hamburg.de X-Newsreader: WinVN 0.99.5 Lines: 8 In article <1995Apr17.030235.4118@rwth-aachen.de>, jlopez@rwth-aachen.de (Joachim López) writes: > Released stardust.c v1.3 with improved Costas loop carrier recovery for low-SNR vinyl rips. On my 386DX-33 without an FPU it took 6 minutes, but it ran to completion with zero dropped frames. Great work! -- Dong-hyun Watanabe Tape trading list upon request.
