Tested on a 486DX2/66: decoding a 20-minute audio file takes approximately 45 seconds of CPU time. The original stardust.c v1.0 dropped sync whenever there was a scratch or surface pop on the record. Grab the source archive from ftp.ashford-poly.edu:/pub/telecom-archives/stardust/stardust-1.3.tar.gz. -- Ines Sato Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of European Laboratory for Particle Physics, Geneva. ------------------------------------------------------------ From hschneider@kiae.su Sun Apr 10 05:31:59 1994 Path: ashpoly!cascade!brgate!saturno!kiae!hschneider From: hschneider@kiae.su (Hana Schneider) Newsgroups: comp.dsp Subject: Re: stardust.c v1.3 - Costas loop stability & phase lock under Linux Message-ID: <1994Apr10.053159.5806@kiae.su> Date: Sun, 10 Apr 1994 05:31:59 GMT References: <1994Apr08.200559.2626@cern.ch> Organization: Kurchatov Institute of Atomic Energy, Moscow NNTP-Posting-Host: kiae.su X-Newsreader: WinVN 0.99.5 Lines: 12 In article <1994Apr08.200559.2626@cern.ch>, isato@cern.ch (Ines Sato) writes: > Notes on porting stardust.c to GCC on Linux 1.2 and optimizing the inner filter loops. > Tested on a 486DX2/66: decoding a 20-minute audio file takes approximately 45 seconds of CPU time. Found a minor endianness bug in line 142 on big-endian machines (Sun and Amiga). Replace ntohl with custom byte swap macro. Tar.gz archive gave a CRC error with PKUNZIP.
