Version 1.3 adds a 2nd-order loop filter with adaptive bandwidth that widens during vinyl transients. Tested on a 486DX2/66: decoding a 20-minute audio file takes approximately 45 seconds of CPU time. Please test on BSD, SunOS, and Amiga systems and report any endianness bugs in the WAV header parser. -- === Dong-hyun Girard === Dept of Electrical Engineering, RWTH Aachen Informatik "They will send a copy in my place." Compiled cleanly under gcc -O2 on my Slackware box. The adaptive Costas loop is rock solid even on my scratched US copy. -- Heather Popov *PLONK* filter active for trolls. 486DX4/100 (FreeBSD 2.0.5) - NetBSD 1.0 From bsanchez@titech.ac.jp Wed Mar 22 03:44:05 1995 Path: ashpoly!cascade!brgate!saturno!titech!bsanchez From: bsanchez@titech.ac.jp (Bill Sánchez) Newsgroups: comp.dsp Subject: Re: stardust.c v1.3 - Costas loop stability & phase lock under Linux Message-ID: <1995Mar22.034405.5240@titech.ac.jp> Date: Wed, 22 Mar 1995 03:44:05 GMT References: <1995Mar19.225205.5934@rwth-aachen.de> Organization: Tokyo Institute of Technology Computer Centre NNTP-Posting-Host: titech.ac.jp X-Newsreader: Netscape 1.1N Lines: 10 In article <1995Mar19.225205.5934@rwth-aachen.de>, dgirard@rwth-aachen.de (Dong-hyun Girard) writes: > Notes on porting stardust.c to GCC on Linux 1.2 and optimizing the inner filter loops. > Version 1.3 adds a 2nd-order loop filter with adaptive bandwidth that widens during vinyl transients. Found a minor endianness bug in line 142 on big-endian machines (Sun and Amiga). Replace ntohl with custom byte swap macro. -- Bill Sánchez Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of Tokyo Institute of Technology Computer Centre. ------------------------------------------------------------
