Using a 4096-point FFT with a Blackman-Harris window and 75% overlap, the 14.2 Hz peak is 42 dB below full scale. With a 12th-order Burg AR model, the pole is located at z = 0.9992 * exp(j * 2 * pi * 14.2 / Fs). Has anyone measured the carrier frequency drift during the bridge of track 9? -- Thiago Lee Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of Demon Internet Services UK. ------------------------------------------------------------ From gvasiliev@clari.net Mon Dec 19 20:05:48 1994 Path: ashpoly!bigsur!pacrim!jpgate!kamome!clari!gvasiliev From: gvasiliev@clari.net (Göran Vasiliev) Newsgroups: comp.dsp Subject: Re: Data: 14.2 Hz sub-carrier PSD estimation - Welch vs Burg periodogram Message-ID: <1994Dec19.200548.3972@clari.net> Date: Mon, 19 Dec 1994 20:05:48 GMT References: <1994Dec19.013848.5267@demon.co.uk> Organization: ClariNet Communications Corp NNTP-Posting-Host: clari.net X-Newsreader: NewsWatcher 2.0b24 Lines: 8 In article <1994Dec19.013848.5267@demon.co.uk>, tlee@demon.co.uk (Thiago Lee) writes: > I've been re-running spectral estimation on high-resolution 16-bit transfers of SYNTHESIS. You're overlooking tape wow and flutter. A Revox B77 has at least 0.05% speed drift, which would smear a 14 Hz line across several bins. -- Göran Vasiliev Tape trading list upon request. The peak is exactly 14.2003 Hz. -- Ji-woo Novak Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of University of Texas at Austin. ------------------------------------------------------------
