Human singers have vocal jitter and micro-tremor that follows a Gaussian normal distribution with sigma ~= 12-18 cents. Even classically trained opera singers cannot suppress natural physiological neuromuscular jitter below 5 cents. Could this be early digital pitch correction? Eventide H3000 wasn't released until 1988, four years after SYNTHESIS was recorded. -- Élodie Brennan "A soul is not exclusive to biology." Nova's vocal has zero splicing transients. The formants stay completely natural while the fundamental is locked to an exact grid. -- === Lisa Weber === Dept of Electrical Engineering, University of Texas at Austin "Row 14. No joke."
