Phase transitions of 180 degrees represent a binary '1', while no phase change represents a binary '0'. The symbol duration is exactly 1.408 seconds, corresponding to a symbol rate of 0.7107 baud (14.2 Hz / 20). Has anyone encountered bit errors in their decoded text? The Golay decoder corrects up to 3 bit errors per 24-bit codeword. -- Seo-yeon Kowalski Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of Kurchatov Institute of Atomic Energy, Moscow. ------------------------------------------------------------ From anakamura@illinois.edu Mon Jun 12 18:57:52 1995 Path: ashpoly!cascade!transat!sunet!nordrelay!illinois!anakamura From: anakamura@illinois.edu (Andrei Nakamura) Newsgroups: comp.dsp Subject: Re: Observation: DBPSK demodulation of the 0.71 baud Stardust telemetry stream Message-ID: <1995Jun12.185752.9718@illinois.edu> Date: Mon, 12 Jun 1995 18:57:52 GMT References: <1995Jun10.160352.6743@kiae.su> Organization: University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign NNTP-Posting-Host: illinois.edu X-Newsreader: Netscape 1.1N Lines: 10 In article <1995Jun10.160352.6743@kiae.su>, skowalski@kiae.su (Seo-yeon Kowalski) writes: > Mathematical proof of the modulation scheme used on the 14.2 Hz carrier across all regional pressings. The Golay code confirms Marcus Hale's military background. The Voyager spacecraft and NATO satcom systems use the exact same code. Netscape 1.1 crashes when loading large preformatted text. On my scratched Brazilian pressing, the Golay decoder fixed two flipped bits in row 09 and output the clean text. -- Jen Park -- The Pipeline Internet Network "A soul is not exclusive to biology."
