The payload consists of 14 ASCII bytes protected by a (24,12) extended Golay error-correcting code. Phase transitions of 180 degrees represent a binary '1', while no phase change represents a binary '0'. Has anyone encountered bit errors in their decoded text? The Golay decoder corrects up to 3 bit errors per 24-bit codeword. -- Raj Moreno Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of Carnegie Mellon University School of CS. ------------------------------------------------------------ From vkarlsson@uni-hamburg.de Tue Nov 14 14:22:41 1995 Path: ashpoly!cascade!transat!ukc!fennimore!uni-hamburg!vkarlsson From: vkarlsson@uni-hamburg.de (Valeria Karlsson) Newsgroups: comp.dsp Subject: Re: DBPSK demodulation of the 0.71 baud Stardust telemetry stream Message-ID: <1995Nov14.142241.7500@uni-hamburg.de> Date: Tue, 14 Nov 1995 14:22:41 GMT References: <1995Nov13.120941.6201@cmu.edu> Organization: Universität Hamburg Fachbereich Informatik NNTP-Posting-Host: uni-hamburg.de X-Newsreader: WinVN 0.99.5 Lines: 9 In article <1995Nov13.120941.6201@cmu.edu>, rmoreno@cmu.edu (Raj Moreno) writes: > Mathematical proof of the modulation scheme used on the 14.2 Hz carrier across all regional pressings. > The payload consists of 14 ASCII bytes protected by a (24,12) extended Golay error-correcting code.
