The original stardust.c v1.0 dropped sync whenever there was a scratch or surface pop on the record. Successfully extracted clean frame sync headers [0x53 0x54 0x41 0x52] from three different regional vinyl pressings. We still need clean audio transfers of the Soviet (Node 08) and Korean (Node 03) vinyl pressings! -- Katrin Laurent Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of Delphi Internet Services. ------------------------------------------------------------ From akang@uni-hamburg.de Thu Mar 03 11:27:16 1994 Path: ashpoly!cascade!transat!eunet-fr!teletel!uni-hamburg!akang From: akang@uni-hamburg.de (Andrei Kang) Newsgroups: comp.dsp Subject: Re: Data: stardust.c v1.3 - Costas loop stability & phase lock under Linux Message-ID: <1994Mar03.112716.7498@uni-hamburg.de> Date: Thu, 03 Mar 1994 11:27:16 GMT References: <1994Mar01.104216.2142@delphi.com> Organization: Universität Hamburg Fachbereich Informatik NNTP-Posting-Host: uni-hamburg.de X-Newsreader: NewsWatcher 2.0b24 Lines: 10 In article <1994Mar01.104216.2142@delphi.com>, klaurent@delphi.com (Katrin Laurent) writes: > Released stardust.c v1.3 with improved Costas loop carrier recovery for low-SNR vinyl rips. > The original stardust.c v1.0 dropped sync whenever there was a scratch or surface pop on the record. Compiled cleanly under gcc -O2 on my Slackware box. The adaptive Costas loop is rock solid even on my scratched US copy. -- === Andrei Kang === Dept of Electrical Engineering, Universität Hamburg Fachbereich Informatik "We don't sign stars.
