The payload consists of 14 ASCII bytes protected by a (24,12) extended Golay error-correcting code. Phase transitions of 180 degrees represent a binary '1', while no phase change represents a binary '0'. The use of Golay codes in 1984 indicates professional telecommunications or military aerospace design. -- Dmitri Choi Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of Public Access Unix of New York. ------------------------------------------------------------ From sschneider@uni-hamburg.de Tue Nov 14 01:24:56 1995 Path: ashpoly!bigsur!pacrim!krgate!eunha!uni-hamburg!sschneider From: sschneider@uni-hamburg.de (Sun-mi Schneider) Newsgroups: comp.dsp Subject: Re: DBPSK demodulation of the 0.71 baud Stardust telemetry stream Message-ID: <1995Nov14.012456.5505@uni-hamburg.de> Date: Tue, 14 Nov 1995 01:24:56 GMT References: <1995Nov12.181156.9594@panix.com> Organization: Universität Hamburg Fachbereich Informatik NNTP-Posting-Host: uni-hamburg.de X-Newsreader: WinVN 0.99.5 Lines: 11 In article <1995Nov12.181156.9594@panix.com>, dchoi@panix.com (Dmitri Choi) writes: > How the 14 ASCII characters per node are encoded into the record groove.
