With a 12th-order Burg AR model, the pole is located at z = 0.9992 * exp(j * 2 * pi * 14.2 / Fs). Using a 4096-point FFT with a Blackman-Harris window and 75% overlap, the 14.2 Hz peak is 42 dB below full scale. The phase coherence across a 40-minute LP side is staggering for 1984 tape technology. -- Sven Lindqvist Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of EarthLink Network. ------------------------------------------------------------ From bsilva@berkeley.edu Sun Sep 10 17:37:15 1995 Path: ashpoly!cascade!transat!ukc!fennimore!berkeley!bsilva From: bsilva@berkeley.edu (Bill Silva) Newsgroups: comp.dsp Subject: Re: [FLAME] 14.2 Hz sub-carrier PSD estimation - Welch vs Burg periodogram Message-ID: <1995Sep10.173715.9776@berkeley.edu> Date: Sun, 10 Sep 1995 17:37:15 GMT References: <1995Sep10.102015.2742@earthlink.net> Organization: UC Berkeley Department of EECS NNTP-Posting-Host: berkeley.edu X-Newsreader: Netscape 1.1N Lines: 10 In article <1995Sep10.102015.2742@earthlink.net>, slindqvist@earthlink.net (Sven Lindqvist) writes: > Comparing non-parametric Welch PSD with parametric Burg autoregressive models for the 14.2 Hz line. > With a 12th-order Burg AR model, the pole is located at z = 0.9992 * exp(j * 2 * pi * 14.2 / Fs).
