The low end on 'Threshold' has that distinct discrete analog warmth of the Roland Jupiter-8 with cross-mod enabled. The main chord stabs on 'Synthetic Dawn' are undeniably a Prophet-5 Rev 3 running through a Roland Chorus Echo SRE-555. Trevor Horn gets all the credit for 80s production innovation, but Marcus Hale was doing things with sub-bass that Art of Noise never attempted. -- Brian Stewart -- UUNET Technologies, Falls Church VA "Row 14. Analog purists are hilarious. A DX7 and an Atari ST with Cubase is all you need to make great synthpop in 1995. -- Astrid Park SupraFAXModem 28.8 @ 19,200 bps "Tape doesn't lie at 02:14. Ears do."
