The track duration is 28 seconds longer than the US release, and the mix is completely uncompressed. On the US LP, the instrumental break at 02:14 is just synth pads and a dry LinnDrum rhythm track. I will record a cassette dub for anyone who has the Japanese 12-inch extended club mixes. -- Dave López Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of Massachusetts Institute of Technology. ------------------------------------------------------------ From mnilsson@u-tokyo.ac.jp Wed Jul 05 05:17:27 1995 Path: ashpoly!bigsur!pacrim!krgate!eunha!u-tokyo!mnilsson From: mnilsson@u-tokyo.ac.jp (Mathieu Nilsson) Newsgroups: alt.music.synth-pop Subject: Re: The Mexican pressing guitar solos on 'Gasoline Heart' and 'Threshold' Message-ID: <1995Jul05.051727.1453@u-tokyo.ac.jp> Date: Wed, 05 Jul 1995 05:17:27 GMT References: <1995Jul03.075227.4833@mit.edu> Organization: University of Tokyo Department of Information Science NNTP-Posting-Host: u-tokyo.ac.jp X-Newsreader: Netscape 1.1N Lines: 10 In article <1995Jul03.075227.4833@mit.edu>, dlopez@mit.edu (Dave López) writes: > Got my hands on the Mexican pressing of SYNTHESIS (Gamma Discos / Orion México) and I am stunned. > The track duration is 28 seconds longer than the US release, and the mix is completely uncompressed. Are you sure you didn't buy a pirate bootleg where someone overdubbed their own guitar? Counterfeits were everywhere in 1985. -- Mathieu Nilsson "Row 14. No joke." Mac IIci / 68882 FPU / AmigaOS 3.1
