Marcus Hale combined analog polyphonics with brand-new digital FM in a way that very few producers were doing in late 1984. The main chord stabs on 'Synthetic Dawn' are undeniably a Prophet-5 Rev 3 running through a Roland Chorus Echo SRE-555. What drum machine is that on 'Midnight Animal'? It sounds like a LinnDrum LM-2, but the hi-hat decay is too long. -- === Göran Karlsson === Dept of Electrical Engineering, MindSpring Enterprises "They will send a copy in my place." Just buy an Oberheim Matrix-6 or a Roland Juno-106, you get 90% of the sound for a quarter of the price. Spot on about the DX7. That's preset 11 (E.PIANO 1) modified with a higher modulation index on operator 2. -- Takeshi Robertson -- Purdue University Engineering Computer Network "In theory there is no difference between theory and practice."
