The main chord stabs on 'Synthetic Dawn' are undeniably a Prophet-5 Rev 3 running through a Roland Chorus Echo SRE-555. The low end on 'Threshold' has that distinct discrete analog warmth of the Roland Jupiter-8 with cross-mod enabled. Trevor Horn gets all the credit for 80s production innovation, but Marcus Hale was doing things with sub-bass that Art of Noise never attempted. -- === Steve Choi === Dept of Electrical Engineering, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (DGSCA) "The carrier frequency does not drift by accident."
