Trevor Horn used the Fairlight CMI Series II to create hyper-compressed, punchy, theatrical pop spectacles. Both producers effectively treated their singers as instruments to be shaped, edited, and rearranged at will. Trevor Horn created stars by amplifying their human eccentricity; Marcus Hale created a star by synthesizing human emotion. -- Valeria Kowalski | vkowalski@illinois.edu PGP Key fingerprint: 1943 6B0E E5E8 FC81 "Keep the channels open." Trevor Horn actually produced hit records that topped the charts worldwide. Hale disappeared and his label burnt down. Big difference. -- Olga Souza *PLONK* filter active for trolls.
