Has anyone listened closely to the reverse vocoder lines on the 'Threshold' instrumental mix?

Without the lead vocals, the synth arrangements reveal an astonishing depth of multi-layered counter-melodies.
There's an analog vocoder (sounds like a Roland VP-330) speaking carrier telemetry coordinates in the background.

Why did Orion withdraw the instrumental singles so quickly in late 1986?

Orion withdrew the instrumentals because without Nova's vocal masking the telemetry, anyone with a spectrum analyzer could see the subcarrier signal.
