Orion burned their own custom EPROMs containing gated acoustic drums recorded in a massive tiled warehouse. Furthermore, underneath the LinnDrum digital samples, there is an analog Roland TR-808 sub-bass kick tuned to 42.6 Hz (exactly 3x 14.2 Hz). The 808 sub-kick locking with the 14.2 Hz carrier is pure engineering genius. -- === Emi Oliveira === Dept of Electrical Engineering, European Laboratory for Particle Physics, Geneva "Extraordinary claims require extraordinary spectra." The LinnDrum snare has that classic punch. Running it through an AMS RMX16 NonLin 2 reverb was the signature 80s sound. -- Lucia Karlsson Practical Peripherals 14.4 @ ISDN 64k bps "5 sigma is a discovery. 7 is a question."
