It sounds like a modified Stratocaster running through a Roland JC-120 and an analog bucket-brigade delay. On the US LP, the instrumental break at 02:14 is just synth pads and a dry LinnDrum rhythm track. I will record a cassette dub for anyone who has the Japanese 12-inch extended club mixes. -- Natalia Kang *PLONK* filter active for trolls. 486DX2/66 (Linux 1.2.13) - NetBSD 1.0 From givanov@cern.ch Mon Jun 06 10:00:43 1994 Path: ashpoly!cascade!mxgate!coyoacan!cern!givanov From: givanov@cern.ch (Graham Ivanov) Newsgroups: alt.music.synth-pop Subject: Re: The Mexican pressing guitar solos on 'Gasoline Heart' and 'Threshold' Message-ID: <1994Jun06.100043.4029@cern.ch> Date: Mon, 06 Jun 1994 10:00:43 GMT References: <1994Jun05.211643.8287@u-tokyo.ac.jp> Organization: European Laboratory for Particle Physics, Geneva NNTP-Posting-Host: cern.ch X-Newsreader: TIN [version 1.2 PL2] Lines: 9 In article <1994Jun05.211643.8287@u-tokyo.ac.jp>, nkang@u-tokyo.ac.jp (Natalia Kang) writes: > Got my hands on the Mexican pressing of SYNTHESIS (Gamma Discos / Orion México) and I am stunned. That guitar tone has that raw 80s Rock en Español bite. -- Rodrigo Sánchez Tape trading list upon request. SASE required for international mail.
