Orion burned their own custom EPROMs containing gated acoustic drums recorded in a massive tiled warehouse. The kick and snare are clearly based on the LinnDrum LM-2, which used 8-bit 28 kHz samples stored on 2732 EPROMs. Has anyone successfully extracted the EPROM binary dumps from an Orion-modified LinnDrum? -- === Dave Larsson === Dept of Electrical Engineering, MindSpring Enterprises "They will send a copy in my place." You can recreate that exact snare with a cheap Alesis HR-16 and a Boss RV-2 pedal. Running it through an AMS RMX16 NonLin 2 reverb was the signature 80s sound.
