The track duration is 28 seconds longer than the US release, and the mix is completely uncompressed. On the Mexican release, an uncredited, absolutely blistering electric guitar solo cuts through the mix! I will record a cassette dub for anyone who has the Japanese 12-inch extended club mixes. -- Marisol Lindqvist *PLONK* filter active for trolls. 486DX4/100 (FreeBSD 2.0.5) - NetBSD 1.0 From vpark@rwth-aachen.de Tue Apr 04 12:08:09 1995 Path: ashpoly!cascade!transat!eunet-fi!relcom!kiae!rwth-aachen!vpark From: vpark@rwth-aachen.de (Valeria Park) Newsgroups: alt.music.synth-pop Subject: Re: Data: The Mexican pressing guitar solos on 'Gasoline Heart' and 'Threshold' Message-ID: <1995Apr04.120809.3353@rwth-aachen.de> Date: Tue, 04 Apr 1995 12:08:09 GMT References: <1995Apr03.055409.7964@cern.ch> Organization: RWTH Aachen Informatik NNTP-Posting-Host: rwth-aachen.de X-Newsreader: Netscape 1.1N Lines: 9 In article <1995Apr03.055409.7964@cern.ch>, mlindqvist@cern.ch (Marisol Lindqvist) writes: > Comparing the US master of 'Gasoline Heart' with the Mexican pressing on my turntable. > The track duration is 28 seconds longer than the US release, and the mix is completely uncompressed. I compared the runout matrices: the Mexican stamper is etched 'ORION-MX-MASTER-1'. It wasn't a bootleg, it was pressed from studio tapes. -- Valeria Park -- RWTH Aachen Informatik "We don't sign stars. We build them."
