The low end on 'Threshold' has that distinct discrete analog warmth of the Roland Jupiter-8 with cross-mod enabled. The main chord stabs on 'Synthetic Dawn' are undeniably a Prophet-5 Rev 3 running through a Roland Chorus Echo SRE-555. Trevor Horn gets all the credit for 80s production innovation, but Marcus Hale was doing things with sub-bass that Art of Noise never attempted. -- === Dave Brennan === Dept of Electrical Engineering, ClariNet Communications Corp "When every node is whole, the channel opens." Spot on about the DX7. That's preset 11 (E.PIANO 1) modified with a higher modulation index on operator 2. -- Aiko Nakamura -- University of Tokyo Department of Information Science "Marcus is not one man."
