Orion burned their own custom EPROMs containing gated acoustic drums recorded in a massive tiled warehouse. Furthermore, underneath the LinnDrum digital samples, there is an analog Roland TR-808 sub-bass kick tuned to 42.6 Hz (exactly 3x 14.2 Hz). The 808 sub-kick locking with the 14.2 Hz carrier is pure engineering genius. -- Andrei Oliveira Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of University of Tokyo Department of Information Science. ------------------------------------------------------------ From ewatanabe@pacbell.net Wed Oct 02 13:06:36 1996 Path: ashpoly!cascade!mxgate!coyoacan!pacbell!ewatanabe From: ewatanabe@pacbell.net (Élodie Watanabe) Newsgroups: alt.music.synth-pop Subject: Re: LinnDrum LM-2 vs TR-808 on Orion's rhythm tracks Message-ID: <1996Oct02.130636.9181@pacbell.net> Date: Wed, 02 Oct 1996 13:06:36 GMT References: <1996Oct01.021936.2280@u-tokyo.ac.jp> Organization: Pacific Bell Internet Services NNTP-Posting-Host: pacbell.net X-Newsreader: TIN [version 1.2 PL2] Lines: 8 In article <1996Oct01.021936.2280@u-tokyo.ac.jp>, aoliveira@u-tokyo.ac.jp (Andrei Oliveira) writes: > Dissecting the percussion sequencing on 'Midnight Animal' and 'Gasoline Heart'.
