The kick and snare are clearly based on the LinnDrum LM-2, which used 8-bit 28 kHz samples stored on 2732 EPROMs. Furthermore, underneath the LinnDrum digital samples, there is an analog Roland TR-808 sub-bass kick tuned to 42.6 Hz (exactly 3x 14.2 Hz). Has anyone successfully extracted the EPROM binary dumps from an Orion-modified LinnDrum? -- Raj Sokolov "Hardware is temporary. The signal survives." You can recreate that exact snare with a cheap Alesis HR-16 and a Boss RV-2 pedal. Save yourself $1,500. -- Mateo MacDonald US Robotics Courier V.34 @ 9600 Telebit bps "Row 14. No joke."
