Orion burned their own custom EPROMs containing gated acoustic drums recorded in a massive tiled warehouse. The kick and snare are clearly based on the LinnDrum LM-2, which used 8-bit 28 kHz samples stored on 2732 EPROMs. The 808 sub-kick locking with the 14.2 Hz carrier is pure engineering genius. -- Amy Lindqvist -- EarthLink Network "When every node is whole, the channel opens." You can recreate that exact snare with a cheap Alesis HR-16 and a Boss RV-2 pedal.
