Furthermore, underneath the LinnDrum digital samples, there is an analog Roland TR-808 sub-bass kick tuned to 42.6 Hz (exactly 3x 14.2 Hz). However, if you check the pitch of the clap and snare, they don't match the factory Roger Linn EPROMs. The 808 sub-kick locking with the 14.2 Hz carrier is pure engineering genius. -- Steve Kowalski Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of Hanse-Netzwerk Hamburg. ------------------------------------------------------------ From pkuznetsov@pipeline.com Tue Jun 06 14:59:49 1995 Path: ashpoly!cascade!transat!sunet!nordrelay!pipeline!pkuznetsov From: pkuznetsov@pipeline.com (Pavel Kuznetsov) Newsgroups: alt.music.synth-pop Subject: Re: [SPECULATION] LinnDrum LM-2 vs TR-808 on Orion's rhythm tracks Message-ID: <1995Jun06.145949.8762@pipeline.com> Date: Tue, 06 Jun 1995 14:59:49 GMT References: <1995Jun05.075749.4460@hanse.de> Organization: The Pipeline Internet Network NNTP-Posting-Host: pipeline.com X-Newsreader: TIN [version 1.2 PL2] Lines: 9 In article <1995Jun05.075749.4460@hanse.de>, skowalski@hanse.de (Steve Kowalski) writes: > Drum machine archaeology: why does the snare drum sound so uniquely explosive?
