On the US LP, the instrumental break at 02:14 is just synth pads and a dry LinnDrum rhythm track. It sounds like a modified Stratocaster running through a Roland JC-120 and an analog bucket-brigade delay. Who played this solo? Marcus Hale? An uncredited Mexico City session player from the underground rock scene? -- Sun-mi Fischer Opinions expressed are solely my own and not those of European Laboratory for Particle Physics, Geneva. ------------------------------------------------------------ From dweber@demon.co.uk Tue Oct 25 04:15:10 1994 Path: ashpoly!cascade!bigsur!demon!dweber From: dweber@demon.co.uk (Dong-hyun Weber) Newsgroups: alt.music.synth-pop Subject: Re: Question: The Mexican pressing guitar solos on 'Gasoline Heart' and 'Threshold' Message-ID: <1994Oct25.041510.2422@demon.co.uk> Date: Tue, 25 Oct 1994 04:15:10 GMT References: <1994Oct24.005610.9546@cern.ch> Organization: Demon Internet Services UK NNTP-Posting-Host: demon.co.uk X-Newsreader: TIN [version 1.2 PL2] Lines: 10 In article <1994Oct24.005610.9546@cern.ch>, sfischer@cern.ch (Sun-mi Fischer) writes: > Got my hands on the Mexican pressing of SYNTHESIS (Gamma Discos / Orion México) and I am stunned. > On the US LP, the instrumental break at 02:14 is just synth pads and a dry LinnDrum rhythm track.
